1cupgranulated sugar
1cupwater
1pintblueberries
3ozgood quality whiskey, bourbon, or rye
1 1/2 oz.blueberry simple syrup
4-5dashesblood orange bitters
Instructions
Blueberry Simple Syrup Instructions:1. Bring the water and sugar to a light boil in a mediumsaucepan, over medium heat. 2. Add the blueberries and bring back to a light boil. 3. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or untilthe berries are cooked and softened. 4. Using the backof a wooden spoon, break down all theberries. 5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 6. Strain the simple syrup through a fine meshedstrainer into a very clean jelly jar. 7. Let cool completely to room temperature, and store inthe refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Super Scrumptious Smoked Blueberry Old FashionedInstructions: 1. Place the whiskey,blueberry simple syrup, and bitters intoa 64-oz. mason jar. 2. Stir very well with a bar spoon. 3. Fill your smoke gun hopper with wood chips. (I usedcherrywood, but apple would be delicious too!) 4. Light the smoke gun and put the tube into the jar, partiallycovering the top with the lid.5. When the jar is densely filled with smoke, pull the smokingtube out, covering and sealing the jar very quickly.6. Tighten the lid down and shake the drink for a full 30seconds.7. Let the drink sit for 1 minute, or until most of the smokehas been absorbed into the drink. 8. Place ice in cocktail glasses, and divide the smoked drinkbetween the two glasses. 9. Garnish with cherries. Enjoy!
